Enfriend and I went to the aquarium and there was a touchtank and there was a ray that went around the side waving at everyone and it was SO ADORABLE.

I’d sat and pet the little sharks in the tank for a while before finding a ray to pet and it was so bizarre because they felt so distinctly different from the shark—I was expecting something kind of the same but it was like someone put a plate of jello under the water and I was petting it. :|

I know this isn’t exactly on topic, but because we’ve had discussions on this blog before about societal beauty standards, what athletic women look like, the diversity in body types and that fat people can be athletic and healthy, and this story involves all of those, PLUS there’s a way to donate to her if you want to help, I’m reblogging this. :)

And also, in terms of this blog, to remind people that even if you only want to draw “athletic” women to be superheroines, there’s a lot of different body types that athletes have.  Not every one looks like Maria Sharapova.
